The business programme of the International Transport and Logistics Forum, which will take place 1–3 April 2026 in St. Petersburg at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre, has been published on the Forum’s official website. The event will be held in Russia for the first time and will serve as a new platform for global dialogue on the development of the world transport system in an era of geopolitical change. The national agenda of the Forum focuses on Russia’s active participation and the promotion of its technological potential within existing large-scale logistics projects.
“Russia, with its unique geographic position, has historically been one of the key links in the global transport system. We are consistently developing this potential and implementing projects capable of shaping the configuration of global transportation for decades to come. This includes the development of the international transport corridor North–South, the expansion of the Northern Sea Route, and the modernization of our ports and border infrastructure. I am confident that open professional dialogue, the exchange of best practices, and the development of coordinated solutions will be an important step toward strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation among the Forum’s participating countries,” emphasized Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev.
The business programme includes more than 40 discussions across three tracks: ‘Logistics and Transport Sectors’, ‘Global Connectivity and Transport Corridors’, and ‘Digitalization and the Future of Transport’. The central event of the Forum will be the plenary session, focusing on transport connectivity as a foundation of the emerging world order and its development in the context of global competition and universal security.
“Ensuring the global competitiveness of transport corridors is today one of the priority national goals set by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The old world order is receding into the past, and a new architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia is taking shape. Within this framework, transport becomes a key element of this new space, while logistics serves as the main instrument for advancing national interests and integrating into the global markets of the future. I am confident that the Forum will become a center for developing practical solutions and initiatives to ensure the seamlessness and security of transport routes, laying the foundation for the long-term prosperity of the Eurasian continent,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Forum’s Organizing Committee.
The main elements of the programme will include the plenary meeting, sessions on key international transport issues, expert discussions, round tables, and meetings of specialized international organizations. Experts will focus on the development of transport industries, logistics systems, transport corridors, and digitalization. Participants will discuss the future of transportation and its role in shaping the global economy and ensuring sustainable connectivity between regions and countries.
“Our country is becoming a platform for discussing the development of global logistics, offering international partners alternative transport corridors that are safer, more technologically advanced, and faster than traditional routes. Thanks to our accumulated experience, we are ready to become a key logistical bridge between East and West, North and South, providing reliable routes for cargo delivery. In this regard, the Forum’s programme opens a number of important discussions on the joint development of international transport corridors through the integration of national infrastructures, the digitalization of multimodal transportation, and the strengthening of supply chain resilience. Agreements reached as a result of the Forum’s work will form the basis for subsequent intergovernmental agreements and decisions at the level of international organizations,” noted Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Andrey Nikitin.
Participants will discuss the synchronization of national plans to expand transport infrastructure across Greater Eurasia, the strengthening of connectivity between Russia and Africa in the context of developing transport routes and infrastructure, and their integration into the global transport network. They will also assess the potential economic impact for participating countries.
Special attention during the Forum will be given to the development of new mobility and to the role of technology in improving transport infrastructure in cities and entire regions. The introduction of autonomous systems and artificial intelligence technologies opens new opportunities and contributes to the creation of a seamless transport environment. Experts will also examine the role of fundamental science and international cooperation in developing effective transport systems.
One of the key topics will be the future of transport education, taking into account the development of science, digitalization, and new technologies based on artificial intelligence. An important aspect of this discussion will be the transfer of best educational practices and national experience within the framework of international cooperation.
The Forum is being held in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation aimed at ensuring the global competitiveness of Russia’s transport corridors, including the implementation of national development goals through 2030 and with a longer-term outlook to 2036.
