Dear Friends,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the first International Transport and Logistics Forum in St. Petersburg.
It is highly appropriate that a logistics industry event of this importance be held in our Northern Capital, which boasts a long history as an important transport hub.
Russia’s unique geopolitical position has endowed it with significant transit potential. As the global economy is transformed and a new structure emerges, our country is working to develop sustainable logistics links and secure international transport corridors for more connectivity across territories, growing exports, greater technological and industrial sovereignty, and expanded transportation within Eurasia in close coordination with our friends and partners in the EAEU, CIS, SCO, and BRICS.
It is essential that we make these global routes more cost-effective and technologically advanced. Doing so will require more investment and the adoption of digital solutions capable of reducing the demands that time and money place on those participating in the economy.
I have no doubt that the forum will provide an excellent opportunity to engage in constructive, professional dialogue with representatives of the transport industry and expert and business communities from across the globe, give birth to new ideas and practical proposals, and result in the implementation of large-scale projects.
Mikhail Mishustin
