Visitors will view the Academic Museum exhibition. This display features paintings by Western European masters that served as models for the Academy’s students, as well as the finest academic exercises and ‘pensioner works’ by renowned graduates of the Academy of Arts, including Anton Losenko, Karl Bryullov, Alexander Ivanov, Ilya Repin, Vasily Polenov, Nicolai Fechin, and others. In the architectural models section, visitors will see a rare collection of design models created under the supervision of great architects such as Francesco Rastrelli, Antonio Rinaldi, and Auguste de Montferrand. Finally, the unique Gallery of Casts – a collection of plaster copies taken from original works of antique sculpture – will provide visitors with insight into the teaching methods and specific features of the educational process at the Imperial Academy of Arts.
