The State Museum of the Political History of Russia is located in the centre of St. Petersburg in historic Art Nouveau mansions that once belonged to the ballerina Matilda Kshesinskaya and the timber industrialist Vasily Brandt. The museum’s collection includes around half a million items and spans the period of Russian political history from the reign of Catherine II to the present day. Its exhibitions, thematic displays, as well as educational programmes and projects reflect the museum’s mission of demonstrating the continuity of Russian statehood (the Russian Empire, the USSR, and the Russian Federation).
A free ticket can be obtained by presenting your participant badge to the museum ticket office. Use your badge to visit the museum independent of a guided tour.
To book a tour, please call the museum in advance at: Alexandra Kartavtseva, Head of the Excursion Service: +7 (812) 600 2000 (ext. 257), a.kartavceva@polithistory.ru
