New Mobility: How Technology is Changing the World

April, 1
16:30–18:00
Panel Session
Digitalization and the Future of Transport
Congress Centre, conference hall D1
New mobility technology is becoming the chief driver behind the restructuring of the global economy and daily life. Self-driving vehicles, transport electrification, and AI integration are erasing the boundaries between the physical and digital worlds, forming a seamless transport environment. Russian developers are already offering comprehensive solutions for smart cities: from driverless transport control systems to high-tech infrastructure for electrical and hydrogen transport. Fundamental science and international cooperation play a key role in the creation of effective transport systems. Research into new materials, mathematical flow modelling, and satellite monitoring are raising security and accessibility to a new level. The digitalization of corridors – electronic customs systems and smart travel payment – can speed up trade growth, while joint scientific projects and the harmonization of standards make transport genuinely global. Russian companies’ IT and engineering competences prepare them to offer their partners in the EAEU, BRICS, and other countries the full cycle of new mobility integration: from digital platforms for carsharing and logistics to the production of components for electric vehicles and building of smart highways. This will ensure equal access to the latest technology, reduce dependence on imported solutions and improve the quality of life in cities. The prospects for new mobility include the transformation of the urban environment, a reduced carbon footprint, the creation of new labour markets, and the formation of sustainable transport corridors in a technologically sovereign world. How does transport development today affect the economy and people’s everyday lives? Which transport solutions, both engineering and organizational, can change Russia and the world in the future? Which fundamental sciences can help in creating more efficient transport systems? Which international cooperation directions make transport more accessible and safer?
