The New Geography of Global Trade: Uniting Continents

April, 2
09:00–10:30
In partnership with Delo Group
Global Connectivity and Transport Corridors
Congress Centre, conference hall D1
The restructuring of Russia’s foreign trade geography and the evolution of the BRICS+ alliance are creating demand for new, sustainable transport and logistics chains. The Asia-Pacific, Global South, and Latin American markets are emerging as key growth centres for mutual trade. Despite the ongoing development of the market, the emergence of new players, and the creation of the infrastructure needed to service transport flows between BRICS+ countries, logistics corridors within the alliance are currently unbalanced in some areas, commercially volatile, and highly dependent on geopolitical factors and macroeconomic mechanisms. This is diminishing the competitiveness of products from several BRICS+ countries and hindering economic integration within the alliance. How can we create a seamless transport framework that connects maritime routes with each other and with the rail and highway networks of Eurasia, Africa, and Latin America? How can we synchronize logistics from Hanoi and Shanghai to São Paulo and St. Petersburg? What is Russia’s role as a key transit and export hub?
