Russia–China Trade Routes

April, 3
08:45–10:30
Global Connectivity and Transport Corridors
Congress Centre, 2nd floor, conference hall B1
Trade between Russia and China has traditionally been of great importance for both countries. Developing transport corridors helps grow trade and strengthen economic ties. This symbiosis creates favourable conditions for further expanding cooperation and increasing trade turnover between the two countries. Does the carrying (throughput) capacity of existing corridors between Russia and China need to be increased? Which areas look promising right now? Which types of freight can we expect to increase/decrease in volume? What opportunities exist for Russia–Mongolia cooperation, including in the trade of raw materials? Is there demand for corridors between Russia and Mongolia? Are new corridors between Russia and China such as the Central Eurasian Transport Corridor (CETC), the corridor through Altai Territory, the Northern Sea Route, the development of container lines, and so on, needed? What mechanisms for implementing joint infrastructure megaprojects are most effective?
