The Northern Sea Route and the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor: Creating a New Logistics Axis for Russia

April, 2
11:00–12:30
Global Connectivity and Transport Corridors
Congress Centre, conference hall D2
Safe maritime shipping serves both as a guarantee of transport sovereignty and a solid foundation for effective logistics with international partners. Maritime security is not only a matter of infrastructure, but is also key to sustainable partnerships in developing a competitive route. Interest in the Arctic is growing thanks to active international dialogue, and new cooperation formats are opening up new channels for increasing cargo flows and strengthening the role of the Trans-Arctic route in global trade. Modern shipping security is becoming a foundation for trust between countries and the driving force behind long-term partnerships. What are some of the challenges on the agenda? What steps will help improve the Arctic logistics system: expanding the capacity of northern ports, accelerating cargo handling, introducing innovations in shipbuilding, or the use of ice-going vessels? How can the Northern Sea Route become a driver for new international projects in energy, shipbuilding, and scientific research?
